The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) marked a significant milestone on April 12, 2024, with the Data Turnover Ceremony (DTC) for the last three municipalities in Western Visayas.
The event completes the data transfer to all participating Local Government Units (LGUs) for the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS).
The municipalities of Ibajay in Aklan and Sta. Barbara and Pavia in Iloilo were the final recipients of the CBMS data, which will inform local planning, policymaking, and impact monitoring.
OIC-Regional Director Nelida C. Amolar led the ceremony in Aklan, and Statistical Operations and Coordination Division (SOCD) Chief Marlene Y. Alviar conducted the turnovers in Iloilo.
The handover was ceremoniously acknowledged by Vice Mayor Julio M. Estolloso of Ibajay and the Municipal Mayors Dennis S. Superficial of Sta. Barbara, and Laurence Anthony G. Gorriceta of Pavia.
During the ceremony, key findings from the 2022 CBMS were presented, attended by members of the CBMS Coordinating Board from each LGU, department heads, LGU data users, and representatives from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
The completion of this year’s data turnover is a testament to the PSA’s commitment to fostering data-driven governance and ensuring the security of sensitive information as LGUs strive to enhance public service delivery and development outcomes for their communities.
