BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) said it has upped its campaign against illegal drugs after confiscating more than P12 million worth of dangerous drugs from January 1 to June 9, 2019.
Nocppo data indicated that 1,270.76 grams of shabu (valued at P12,707,600) and 15.04 grams of marijuana (worth P376) were seized in almost six months of police operations.
The biggest drug haul was in April, with an estimated value of P5,802,900.
Police conducted 317 operations that led in the arrest of 416 persons.
Police Major Edison Garcia, Nocppo public information officer, said nine drug personalities were killed in said operations.
The highest number of police operations and the most number of arrested persons was recorded in February.
Also, 787 cases were filed with the prosecutor’s office.
Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, Nocppo director, said the accomplishment report reflects the performance of the provincial headquarters.
Baleros urged Nocppo personnel to continue to be an active law enforcer rendering outstanding services to the country.
