The Iloilo Provincial Government, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Iloilo South, the Rotary Club of Makati Central, and the World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), will hold a free surgical mission at Guimbal District Hospital (Rep. Pedro Trono Memorial District Hospital) from March 11 to 14.
The WSFP, a non-stock, non-profit organization committed to providing medical care, will lead the surgical procedures, offering specialized interventions for both adult and pediatric patients.
The mission will cover general and ENT (ear, nose, and throat) surgeries, as well as pediatric surgical procedures.
Eligible cases for surgery include:
- General and ENT Surgery: Non-toxic goiter/thyroid mass, hemorrhoids, adult hernia, gallbladder inflammation or stones, anal fistula, breast mass, lipoma/firm mass, buccal/parotid/submandibular mass, tonsillectomy, firm mass, and parotidectomy.
- Pediatric Surgery: Hirschsprung’s disease, anorectal malformation, hydrocele, hypospadias, pediatric hernia, and undescended testes.
This initiative aims to improve healthcare access for residents, particularly those who cannot afford surgical treatments.
Residents interested in availing of free surgical procedures are encouraged to coordinate with their respective local health offices for pre-screening and assessment.
