The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Region 6 organized a blood-letting program to kick start the annual tradition of “Blood of Jailers are Meant for People” (BJMP) Program.
The program in a partnership with the Philippine Red Cross was held February 18, 2020 at the Diamond Jubilee Hall, DepEd Division of Iloilo.
This program was established in 2010 and has been sustained for almost a decade. This is usually conducted during the birthday of the Regional Director of BJMP RO6.

“We want to give back to the community by donating free blood to those in need,” said Jail Superintendent Gilbert D. Peremne, Assistant Regional Director for Administration and Chief for Community Relations Service.
Peremne added that the BJMP Program is one of the major highlights in the External and Internal Health Services of the whole region.
“We always put meaning to our endeavors for the community, and with the birthday of our Regional Director, Jail Chief Superintendent Arnel S Gongona, it is but fitting to give life to those who need it in gratitude for the very life we are enjoying right now,” Peremne said.
