Four young men were arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl.
But only one of them was charged for rape while the three others were accused of conspiring with the main suspect.
Police Executive Master Sergeant Ruby Hubo, designated officer-in-charge of Anilao Police Station, said that a rape case was already filed against the 21-year-old suspect.
A corresponding case was already filed against his companions aged 21, 22, and 24 years old for conspiring with the alleged rapist.
Hubo temporarily declined to name the suspects but claimed they are all students and are living in the same village.
Inday (not his real name) told police investigators that she was sexually molested late evening of July 25, 2022.
The victim claimed she was supposed to meet her 21-year-old chatmate Janjan (real name withheld).
The girl claimed Janjan’s two friends fetched her on board a motorcycle and took her to sugarcane plantation where Janjan and another friend were waiting for her.
It was where Janjan allegedly raped her.
After the incident, Janjan’s two friends dropped her around 300 meters away from their home. She immediately informed her mother about what happened.
Hubo said Inday and her mother reported the incident 6:00 a.m. of July 26.
The suspects were eventually arrested and detained.
