Four persons were caught while on a pot session afternoon of September 22 at a suspected drug den in Jaro, Iloilo City.
The suspects were identified as Ronnel Gopiteo, 43, of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City; Geovany Gozon, 31, of Barangay Lopez Jaena Norte, La Paz; and Mark Lester Obregon, 31, and Jory Miranda, 47, both residents of Barangay Desamparados, Jaro.
It appeared that the suspects were just simply at the wrong place and at the wrong time.
Captain Eduardo Siacon, Iloilo City Police Station 4 chief, said that operatives from the Jaro and Molo police stations and the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company were supposed to serve an arrest warrant against RC Ajito at Desamparados village.
Ajito is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
But when the police operatives arrived at Ajito’s lair, which turned to be a shabu den, around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, he was with several people.
The suspect and his two other companions managed to flee while police arrested their four companions.
Recovered from the scene were two sachets of suspected shabu, two lighters, and foils with shabu residue.
Siacon said the seized drug has a standard drug price of P19,040.
The four suspects are now detained and will be charged with violation of RA 9165.
