Four nabbed in drug busts
FOUR persons were arrested in a series of anti-narcotics operation in City Proper district, Iloilo on Wednesday, May 1.
Arrested were Dolly Cabalfin, 51, of Delgado St., Barangay Malipayon, City Proper; Christian de Guzman and Rex Domingo Jaco; and Ronald Cape, 48, of Barangay Alalasan, Lapuz, Iloilo City.
Cabalfin, an alleged drug group member, was busted 9:30 a.m. at Delgado St. after she sold a sachet of suspected shabu. Police also recovered the P14,500 marked money.
On the other hand, Haco and de Guzman were arrested 4:30 p.m. at Barangay Magsaysay after yielding five sachets of suspected shabu and P600 marked money.
Cape, a former barangay kagawad, was arrested 6:30 p.m. at Barangay Malipayon.
Members of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RDEU-6), Regional Intelligence Division 6 (RID-6), and Iloilo City Police Station 1, carried out the operations.
The seized drugs were valued at more or less P154,000.
Charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are now being prepared against the suspects.
