Colonel Gilbert Gorero, Iloilo police chief, named the police stations of Passi City, Pavia, San Enrique, and New Lucena as the top performing units in the weeklong enhanced managing police operations (EMPO).
Dubbed as “Birada Semana, this month’s EMPO was conducted from November 9 to 15, 2020.
Just like in previous months, the recent Birada Semana focused on accounting of wanted and most wanted persons and accomplishments on illegal drugs, gambling, and loose firearms.
The Passi City Police Station topped in the campaign against wanted and most wanted persons while Pavia Police Station did notably in the anti-illegal drugs operation.
Meanwhile, San Enrique Police Station had the most number of firearms recovered while the New Lucena Police Station did well in the anti-illegal gambling operations.
All IPPO police stations conducted 76 operations against wanted persons and arrested 79 persons.
Fourteen operations were also done relative to the enforcement of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling, and PD 449 (Cockfighting Law of 1974).
These operations led to the arrest of 74 persons and the confiscation of cash amounting to P8,943.
Meanwhile, five anti-illegal operations were conducted against 7 drug personalities.
On the campaign against RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act), IPPO implemented 12 search warrants and arrested all subjects.
Seven explosives and 103 firearms were either seized or surrendered.
Further, four operations were conducted against illegal quarry operations with seven suspects arrested.
16 anti-illegal fishing operations were launched that led to the arrest of 29 persons.
Gorero noted that other police stations also delivered notable operational accomplishments.
Initiated by PRO-6, Birada Semana is an activity that aims to sustain police efforts in accomplishing targets through deliberate and sustained operations.
