Four Iloilo City Malls Tapped as Voting Centers

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has designated four malls in Iloilo City as official voting centers for the 2025 midterm elections.

Atty. Pinky Jevine Tentativa of Comelec Iloilo City said the Commission approved the use of these malls as voting centers on October 16.

The designated malls include Robinsons Main in the City Proper, which will serve voters from five nearby villages; Robinsons Jaro for one village in the Jaro district; and SM City Iloilo and Festive Walk Mall, both catering to voters from villages in the Mandurriao district.

Tentativa noted that each mall can accommodate up to 4,000 voters.

“The main goal is to make voting more convenient and comfortable […] and to help decongest schools currently serving as voting centers,” she said during a press conference on Tuesday.

She added that Comelec held public consultations in August, engaging voters affected by the relocation of their voting precincts.

“Following the consultation, we circulated a list where voters could sign to indicate their support for mall voting,” Tentativa explained.

Tentativa further mentioned that Comelec signed a memorandum of agreement with active political parties in the city, which received positive feedback.

In addition to Iloilo City, Robinsons Place in Roxas City was also designated as a voting center and will serve registered voters from Barangays X and XI.
