Four hurt in Roxas City stabbing spree

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Four individuals were injured in a stabbing spree Saturday evening, Oct. 3, in Sitio Looban, Barangay Inzo Arnaldo, Roxas City.
Police identified the victims as aliases “Jose,” 31; “Marlon,” 28; “John,” 24; and “Lito,” 42, all residents of the area.
The suspects were identified as alias “Rom,” of legal age, and alias “Rol,” 35, both residents of the barangay.
An investigation by the Roxas City Police Station showed that Jose and Marlon were drinking outside their cousin’s house when Rom arrived and, without apparent reason, allegedly drew a knife and stabbed Jose in the left hand and Marlon in the back.
When Lito and John heard about the incident, they tried to pacify the suspect but were also allegedly stabbed.
Lito was stabbed in the left hand, while John was hit in the left side of his body.
Investigators said Lito was also allegedly punched by Rol’s son during the incident.
Rom immediately fled, while Rol was arrested by responding police officers.
Police are conducting a hot pursuit operation against Rom.
Farmer stabbed dead after drinking session in Dumarao

DUMARAO, Capiz — A 23-year-old farmer died after he was allegedly stabbed by a drinking companion Friday night, Oct. 2, in Sitio Tirum, Barangay Codingle, Dumarao, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Jelo De Felix Perez and the suspect as Jason Candelario Huta, 31, both residents of the area.
Investigators said the incident happened around 9 p.m. while Perez was drinking liquor with three other companions at the suspect’s house when a heated argument broke out between the victim and Huta.
The suspect allegedly took a knife and stabbed Perez in the stomach.
Perez was taken to Senator Gerardo M. Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao, Capiz, but was declared dead around 9:42 p.m. by the attending physician.
The suspect fled after the incident and remains the subject of a police manhunt.
Police are looking at a misunderstanding between the two men as the possible motive for the attack.
