BACOLOD City – Four persons suffered injuries after they figured in a multiple-car crash at Barangay Mabini, Valladolid, Negros Occidental yesterday.
Wounded were store attendants Mitzi Gabille, 24; April Masobia, 21; and Edimar Agguire, 47; and panel van driver Jory Valiente Jr.
Police Major Wilfredo Benoman Jr., town police chief, said a pick-up truck driven by 50-year-old Rolly Laguna hit a panel van loaded with trays of eggs when it overlapped the shoulder lane where the latter vehicle was parked in front of a store.
Because of the impact, the panel van hit the store, while the pick-up truck hit a tricycle and a motorcycle that were also parked in the area.
Benoman said Laguna alleged that he failed to notice the panel van because he was in the middle of two trucks on the road.
“It’s possible na dasig dalagan ka pick-up and wala niya daw nakita ang van tungod natung-an siya sang duwa ka truck sa dalan, amo na naglapaw gid siya,” the town police chief added.
Benoman said that Laguna, who was unharmed, is detained at the police station.
