ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A family of four was injured when their car crashed on the afternoon of Sunday, April 14, in Barangay San Cayus, Pilar, Capiz.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. and involved Jackilou Ho, 39, the driver; a woman referred to as Inday; Kate Ho, 18; and Samson Quiachon, 68, a widower and retired teacher, all hailing from Barangay Cogon, Panitan, Capiz.
The family was returning to their home from Estancia, Iloilo when their vehicle attempted to overtake a motorcycle operated by 19-year-old Mathew Gabriel Celoso from Barangay Adlawan, Roxas City.
The vehicle, driven by Ho, lost control and swerved into the road barrier, flipping over as a result.
The car was damaged, and all occupants sustained injuries in the incident.
Emergency response units from the Pilar Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the Bureau of Fire Protection in Pilar, and local police were quick to the scene, transporting the injured to Bailan District Hospital for treatment.
