Four die in separate Capiz motorcycle crashes

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Four people were killed in separate motorcycle accidents Friday and Saturday nights in Dumarao and Panay towns.
Two drivers died when the motorcycles they were driving collided Saturday night, March 7, in Barangay Tamulalod, Dumarao, Capiz.
Police identified the fatalities as alias “Kab,” 57, a farmer and driver of a Barako motorcycle, and alias “Jo,” 44, also a farmer, both residents of Dumarao.
An investigation by the Dumarao Municipal Police Station found that alias “Kab” was on his way to Dumarao proper when he overtook another motorcycle and accidentally hit a Skygo motorcycle driven by alias “Jo.”
Because of the impact, both drivers sustained fatal injuries to different parts of their bodies.
The two were taken to the nearest hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jennylou Ballon of Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital declared dead on arrival a 22-year-old driver and his 17-year-old backrider after their motorcycle hit a concrete gutter Sunday night, March 8, in Barangay Tanza Norte, Panay, Capiz.
Police identified the driver of the Rusi motorcycle as Randy Esteban, 22, and his backrider as alias “Jomar,” 17, both of Barangay Banica, Roxas City.
An investigation by the Panay Municipal Police Station found that the victims were traveling from Panay Ville in Poblacion Ilaya, Panay town, to Roxas City when the driver lost control and the motorcycle hit the concrete gutter.
Because of the impact, both victims hit a concrete post of a steel barrier and sustained fatal injuries.
