ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Four people were arrested Monday evening, March 30, after authorities raided a suspected drug den in Sitio Cassandra, Barangay Punta Tabuc, here.
Joint operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Capiz Provincial Office, the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Roxas City Police Station and the Regional Intelligence Unit 6 served a search warrant on the house of siblings Alona Alvarez, 38, and Johnny “Jr.” Alvarez, 32.
Also present during the operation were Renz Besa, 34, of Barangay Baybay, Roxas City, and Garry Lee, 47, of Barangay Dayao, Roxas City.
Authorities said they recovered 42 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 40 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of PHP 285,600.
Also seized were three packs of cigarettes, an improvised tooter and a transparent plastic cup.
The suspects are in the custody of the PDEA-Capiz Provincial Office.
Charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against them.
Republic Act 9165 imposes penalties for maintaining drug dens and possessing illegal drugs, among other offenses.
