ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Four suspects described by police as “high-value individuals” were arrested Wednesday afternoon, March 4, in a drug buy-bust operation at Sitio Nasagud, Barangay Lanot, Roxas City.
Police said they recovered suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP 680,000 from the suspects.
The suspects were identified only by aliases: “Buktot,” 44, a tricycle driver and resident of the barangay; “Jeriko,” 23, jobless and a resident of New Washington Street; “Rogie,” 50, a construction worker and resident of Sitio Nasagud, Barangay Lanot; and “April Joy,” 23, a housemaid and a resident of New Washington Street, all in Roxas City.
Police said the joint operation was conducted by the Capiz Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Highway Patrol Group.
A sachet of suspected shabu was bought by a police poseur-buyer from “Buktot” in exchange for PHP 21,000 in boodle money, police said.
Operatives also recovered from “Rogie” two sachets of suspected shabu with a total estimated weight of about 500 grams and an estimated street value of PHP 680,000, police said.
The suspects were placed under the custody of the Roxas City police station and were to undergo drug testing.
Charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against them, police said.
