One of the most promising young baseball superstars in the Philippines has passed away at the age of 24.
Jerome Yenson, a former UAAP Best Pitcher and Finals Most Valuable Player with the Adamson Soaring Falcons, was found dead in his home in Nueva Ecija.
Yenson will forever be remembered in the UAAP as the leader of the Soaring Falcons team during Season 80 that ended the school’s eight-year title drought.
Adamson faced a stacked De La Salle University during the finals and swept their way into the title with Yenson winning two Finals awards.
After his illustrious UAAP career, Yenson joined the Thunderz in the Philippine Baseball League and took his game to new heights.
He was also a staple in the PH men’s national team where he helped the team win in the 2018 East Asia Baseball Cup and 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
His former teammates, colleagues, friends, and the Adamson community shared their condolences as they flocked to social media and cherished the memories they had together.
