BACOLOD City – A former member of the New People’s Army (NPA) who is wanted for murder and frustrated murder was arrested at Barangay Maao, Bago City, Negros Occidental last Friday.
Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Group-Visayas Field Unit (AKG-VFU)-Bacolod Team led the manhunt operation along with the Special Action Force and Bago City Police Station that led to the arrest of Nory Solinap of Barangay 10, Victorias City.
Lieutenant Colonel Eduardo Corpuz, chief of Victorias City Police Station, said Solinap is the third most wanted person in the city.
Corpuz said the suspect was previously involved in robbery hold-up incidents in the city. He moved from one place to another when he sensed that he was being chased by the authorities.
The court has recommended no bail for his murder case, while a P200,000 bail was set for the frustrated murder case, a police report said.
Police recovered from Corpuz a .45 caliber pistol loaded with ammunition; three magazines for .45 caliber; 17 live ammunitions, and two fragmentation hand grenades.
