BACOLOD City – About 17 grams of suspected shabu worth P115,600 were seized by police from a former drug offender in a buy-bust operation at Purok Riverside, Barangay Bata here yesterday.
Operatives of the City Drugs Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested again Hansel Magbanua, 45, of Barangay 2 here.
Police Captain Joven Mogato, CDEU head, said the suspect was first arrested in a drug bust in 2016.
He was released from jail three years later after he had served his sentence.
Mogato said they learned that Magbanua allegedly returned to engaging in the illegal drug trade, prompting them to monitor him until the operation was launched.
The suspect would allegedly distribute illegal drugs in Barangays 1, 2, Bata, and Banago here. Police are still trying to trace his sources.
Authorities also confiscated from Magbanua his P200 personal cash and the P1,000 marked money. He is detained at Police Station 3.
