Former CAFGU member arrested in Capiz drug bust

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police apprehended a former member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) during a drug buy-bust operation on Monday afternoon, April 23, in Barangay Bato-Bato, Mambusao, Capiz.
The suspect, identified as 59-year-old Remuel Leonor, a laborer from the area, was detained after selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer.
The sting was a collaborative effort involving the Capiz Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (Capiz-PPDEU), the Cluster Special Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Mambusao Municipal Police Station (MPS), Sapian MPS, Sigma MPS, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Regional Office 6.
Authorities seized four sachets of suspected shabu, totaling 4 grams with a standard drug price of P27,200, P200 in buy-bust funds, P2,300 in various denominations, and a small black pouch from Leonor.
Leonor is now detained at the Mambusao PNP station, facing charges under Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
