ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A football coach died after his motorcycle crashed into a parked military truck around midnight Saturday, April 5, in Barangay Linambasan, Jamindan, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Quezar Sorongon, of legal age, a resident of Barangay Jaena Norte, Jamindan.
The truck driver was identified as Sgt. Jude Barte, 42, of Valderrama, Antique.
According to the Jamindan Municipal Police Station, the victim was heading home when he collided with a truck parked along the road with its hazard lights on due to mechanical trouble.
Due to the impact, the victim sustained fatal injuries to various parts of his body.
Personnel from the Jamindan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office responded and brought the victim to Mambusao District Hospital.
He was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
