A food delivery rider accused of molesting his underage chatmate was arrested afternoon of March 7 at Barangay Seminario, Jaro, Iloilo City.
Police identified the suspect as Jessie James Ayala, 30, of Barangay Taft, Sta Barbara, Iloilo.
Members of Pavia Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) 6, Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit, and PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group-Visayas served to Ayala an arrest warrant for rape by carnal knowledge docketed as Criminal Case No. 22-87157.
Judge Elijo Sharon Ronzales Herrera-Bellones of the Regional Trial Court Branch 27 in Iloilo City issued the warrant on June 25, 2022 with no bail.
Major Rolando Araño, Pavia police chief, said the suspect is the top two most wanted person in Iloilo province and fifth in Pavia town.
He was accused of raping his then 15-year-old chatmate at Barangay Balabag, Pavia town.
The complainant, a resident of Tigbauan town, only reported the incident on June 14, 2020.
Ayala is now detained.
