Floyd “Money” Mayweather shocked the boxing world after announcing his comeback in the ring in February 2021.
Tagged as the “Mega 2021”, event organizers said that they will be bringing Mayweather to the Tokyo Dome in Japan in what will be one of the craziest boxing events next year.
“I know the Olympics is in Japan in 2021, but me, myself, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather and my team will be doing something big in Tokyo Dome… Japan, I’m on my way,” said Mayweather in his Instagram video.
The “Mega 2021” event organizers spilled that they will be featuring champion-class fighters but the opponent slated against Mayweather is still yet to be determined.
Despite retiring from the sport three years ago, Mayweather suited for an exhibition match against Japanese MMA star Tenshin Nasukawa in December 2018.
The match was a one-sided affair after Mayweather knocked the Japanese down three times in the first round and the match was stopped after Nasukawa’s trainer rushed to the ring and called for a stoppage.
Mayweather is no stranger to the Japanese crowd and with another blockbuster deal in 2021, fans are already excited for the fight.
