Five persons caught in online e-sabong in Dumarao

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Five people were arrested for conducting an online e-sabong Monday afternoon, August 5, inside the Dumarao Sports Club in Barangay San Juan, Dumarao, Capiz.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Capiz Provincial Field Unit, CIDG-RSOT 6, and Dumarao PNP.
The police identified the suspects as Peter Paul Sapelino Piojo, 31, of Barangay Caboloan Norte, Oton, Iloilo; Christopher Gelera Puig, 29, of Barangay Intaluan, Pototan, Iloilo; Rey Mark Eripol Estorninos, 25, of Barangay Indaluyon, Igbaras, Iloilo; Kelly Gelera Lozada, 27, of Barangay Intaluan, Pototan, Iloilo; and Rodolfo Jr. Vico Samoy, 52, of Barangay Dulonan, Iloilo City.
Recovered from the suspects were one LED monitor, one CPU, two controllers, one keyboard and mouse, and other equipment used in the illegal activities.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the Dumarao PNP station while charges for violating P.D. 449, as amended by P.D. 1602 in relation to R.A. 10175 or the “Cybercrime Act of 2012,” are being prepared against them.
