BACOLOD CITY – Five individuals, including two cousins, were arrested and PHP346,800 worth of suspected shabu was seized in anti-drug operations here and in Negros Occidental earlier this week.
Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) apprehended the cousins and their companion during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sum-ag on Wednesday.
Arrested were “Niknik,” 30, a construction worker from Bago City, Negros Occidental; his cousin “Papang,” 42, a backhoe operator; and their companion “Rexon,” 34, both residents of Barangay Sum-ag.
Seized from them were 35 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP238,000.
Police Lt. Richard Legada, assistant CDEU chief, said the operation was based on reports about the suspects’ alleged illegal drug activities in the area.
The three were identified as street-level individuals (SLIs).
Drug charges were filed against them on Thursday.
In Kabankalan City, two men aged 24 and 30 were arrested on Tuesday in Barangay 6 after authorities confiscated 16 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP108,800.
