BACOLOD City – A fisherman was arrested for alleged possession of 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 6 here last Wednesday.
The subject was identified as Benny Buenaventura, 21, of Barangay 2 here.
Agent Bamboo of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental, said they conducted the operation against the suspect after receiving a report regarding his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.
Buenaventura is considered a high-value individual because of the volume of drugs seized from him, according to PDEA.
He is a native of Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, but settled down in Barangay 2 here when he got married, Agent Bamboo said.
Agent Bamboo said Buenaventura drew his supply of illegal drugs from Barangay 2 here.
Charges for the sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs were filed against the suspect.
