Fisherman shot dead in Pilar

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A 26-year-old fisherman died after he was shot by a fellow fisherman while in the waters of Pilar, Capiz Wednesday afternoon.
Police identified the victim as Rommel Francisco of Barangay Natividad in Pilar town.
Investigation by the Pilar Municipal Police Station indicated that Francisco and Sonny Garcia, 50, also of Natividad were on their fishing boat when suspect Rodrigo Flores, 44, of Carles, Iloilo, who was on the other fishing boat, approached them.
Flores then drew an unidentified firearm and shot Francisco.
The suspect also tried to shoot Garcia, but he immediately jumped into the water.
Francisco was declared dead in a hospital.
Flores immediately fled and remains at large.
