Fisherman missing after boat found adrift in Capiz

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A fisherman has been reported missing after he went out to sea early Wednesday morning, Nov. 5, in Barangay Pinamihagan, President Roxas, Capiz.
The missing man was identified as Sherwin Banton Jabonete, 41, a resident of the said barangay.
Local authorities launched a search and rescue operation after Jabonete failed to return home.
A report from the President Roxas Municipal Police Station said the incident was reported by Barangay Pinamihagan Chairman Ronilo Basinang, who also requested assistance from the town’s Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Alert team.
According to the family, Jabonete left home around 3 a.m. to go fishing.
By around 5 a.m., his fishing boat was found floating in the sea without anyone on board.
Family members searched for him but were unable to locate him.
A joint search and rescue effort was carried out by the President Roxas police, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection–President Roxas, and the MDRRMO Alert team.
