ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A fisherman died after he was accidentally electrocuted while working on his boat on the morning of Dec. 25 in Barangay Culasi.
Police identified the victim as Rene Baylon Sr., 64, a resident and boat carpenter in the area.
Reports stated that Baylon was drilling his fishing trawl boat when he accidentally touched an open electrical extension wire, leading to his electrocution.
He was immediately brought to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities reminded the public to observe caution when handling electrical equipment, especially in wet or unstable environments.
