Fisherman drowns while fishing

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A 22-year-old fisherman died after he accidentally fell from a fishing boat and drowned early Wednesday morning at Barangay Culasi here.
Police identified the victim as Ronald Guzman of Balud, Masbate.
According to Guzman’s uncle, Arnold delos Santos, the victim was fishing alone when the accident happened.
No one attempted to search and rescue the victim for lack of equipment.
The Philippine Coast Guard only learned of the incident about 6am.
Another fisherman named Alex saw Guzman fall from his boat.
Delos Santos admitted that he and Guzman drank some liquor Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, an unidentified body was found Thursday morning at Brgy. Bago Chiquito in Panay, Capiz.
Barangay Kapitan Eleuperio Bulao said a certain Elmer Baltero, 61, found the body while on his way home to Brgy. Bago Grande, Panay.
Bulao said the man is not from their village, but some residents saw the victim driving a trisikad days before he was found dead.
The victim suffered wounds in his feet.
The victim is about 50 to 60 years old and wore a gray jacket and green t-shirt with the print “Buenafe-Ciudad”.
The body is with a funeral home in Panay town.
