A fisherman was arrested in a high-volume anti-drug operation in Estancia, Iloilo, on the afternoon of July 21.
The 62-year-old suspect, identified by police as alias Reno, is a resident of Purok 3, Barangay Bayuyan, Estancia.
Police arrested him at his rented residence in Purok 2, Barangay Tabu-an.
Members of the Estancia Municipal Police Station arrested the suspect after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth PHP 10,600 to an undercover operative.
Lt. Adrian Baligod, Estancia police chief, said officers later seized about 354 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect.
The confiscated drugs had an estimated standard drug price of PHP 2,407,200, police said.
Baligod said the operation followed two months of surveillance.
The suspect allegedly obtained his drug supply from Capiz province and distributed it in Estancia.
Baligod said the suspect had no previous drug-related arrests.
The suspect remains in the custody of the Estancia Municipal Police Station while authorities prepare charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The law prohibits the sale, possession, and distribution of dangerous drugs, including methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu.
