A fish vendor was arrested in an anti-illegal drugs operation afternoon of August 26, 2023 in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
John Wilfred Cenal, 34, was collared at his house in Sitio Lamintao, Barangay Talisay , Barotac Nuevo.
Members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station collared Cenal after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P28,000.
He also yielded 21 more sachets of suspected shabu and other non-drug items after he was frisked.
Major Jose Nemias Pamplona, Barotac Nuevo outgoing police chief, said the seized drugs weighed around 60 grams and valued at P408,000.
The suspect, a high value individual (HVI), was arrested after a one-month surveillance operation.
“It was a public knowledge that he was into the illegal drug trade but he’s been slippery,” Pamplona said.
Cenal is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
