ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A fish vendor was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation Thursday afternoon, August 1, at Sitio Tagudtod, Barangay Poblacion Norte, Ivisan, Capiz.
Police identified the suspect as alias Ferdinand of the said barangay.
Police Major Ruby Magallanes, Ivisan Municipal Police Station chief, said the suspect had been considered a street-level individual and was under surveillance for a week before the operation was conducted by a joint team from the Capiz Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) along with the Ivisan, Mambusao, and Sigma Municipal Police Stations.
Recovered from the suspect were five sachets of suspected illegal drugs, P500 in buy-bust money, and drug paraphernalia.
Charges for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, have been prepared against him. He is presently under the custody of the Ivisan PNP station for proper disposition.
