ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Farmers in Jamindan, Capiz are the recipients of the first Solar Powered Irrigation System in the Province.
The blessing and turn-over was held Monday morning at Brgy. Jagnaya, Jamindan.
It was spearheaded by Department of Agriculture (DA) VI Regional Executive Director Engr. Remelyn Recoter and Mayor Mac Valdemar.
The event was also graced by Capiz Governor Esteban Evan Nonoy Contreras, Vice Mayor Edilberto Cusay, Sanggunian Bayan (SB) Members, Barangay Officials, Municipal Agriculturist Office Staff and farmers.

During the turnover, Barangay Captain Nobert Llorente of Jagnaya and Small Water Irrigation System Association Chairman Domimador Llorente expressed their gratitude to all who supported the project.
The P5.5-million project aims to serve over 15 hectares of ricefield and reduce production cost, increase yield, thereby increasing the income of the farmers.
Local officials and farmers also thanked the Department of Agriculture for the project with the support and endorsement of Capiz Second District Rep. Fredinel Castro.
