ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Two houses in Sigma, Capiz were razed by two fire incidents on Wednesday and Thursday.
No one was hurt when the house of Epifanio Bertudes, 64, of Brgy. Dayhagon, Sigma, Capiz was burned Thursday noon.
According to Bertudes, he was resting with his family in their sala when his in-laws living nearby informed them of the conflagration.
They immediately went out of the house which was made of light materials with only the clothes on their backs.
Based on the initial investigation by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire originated from one of the rooms in the house.
FO1 Darren Felongco, investigator of Sigma Municipal Fire Station, said they have yet to identify the cause of the fire. The fire gobbled an estimated P30,000 worth of properties.
Meanwhile, the house of Daisy de Juan, 68, in Brgy. Mangoso also in Sigma was totally burned Wednesday noon.
De Juan was alone when the fire erupted from their kitchen
Barangay Kagawad Elordy Loyola helped De Juan to get out from the burning house.
Arson investigators said the fire gobbled P150,000 worth of properties. The house was made of mixed materials.
