ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Three houses were destroyed in separate fire incidents on Thursday, July 31, in Barangay Taft, Tapaz, and Barangay San Ramon, Pilar, both in Capiz province.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Tapaz identified the homeowner as alias Melida, 70, whose house was completely burned.
The fire broke out around 2:33 a.m. and was declared out by 3:12 a.m.
The house, made of mixed concrete and light materials, was reduced to ashes.
Initial damage was pegged at PHP90,000, while investigators continue to determine the cause and total extent of the fire.
Meanwhile, around PHP53,000 worth of property was damaged in another blaze Thursday afternoon at Sitio Bat-os, Barangay San Ramon, Pilar.
The house of Angelino Delfin was totally gutted, while the nearby home of the Bautista family sustained partial damage.
No possessions were salvaged by the Delfin family during the incident.
Among the items destroyed were two laptops, a washing machine, and a television.
The BFP Pilar Fire Station is investigating the cause of the fire.
