Fireman killed in road mishap

A MEMBER of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) died after he figured in a vehicular incident late Thursday afternoon in Sara, Iloilo.
Police identified the victim as Fire Officer 3 (FO3) Rommel Baclagon, 55, a resident of Osmeña St, Arevalo, Iloilo City but is temporarily residing at San Dionisio, Iloilo.
Baclagon was assigned with the BFP-Lemery Station.
The incident happened as the victim was navigating a blind curve around 5:50 p.m. of Thursday at Barangay Alibayog.
Police Corporal Klim Delgado, Sara police investigator, said the victim crashed into another motorcycle he was tailing.
Baclagon had a crash helmet but did not wear it when the incident happened. He was unconscious when rushed to the hospital.
Police confirmed later that he died around 3:48 a.m. of Friday at Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital in Iloilo City.
