BACOLOD City – A firefighter was wounded after he was shot by an unidentified gunman at Purok Ipil, Barangay Tubtubon, Sibulan, Negros Oriental yesterday.
The victim is a 26-year-old member of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in the town.
Based on the initial report of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo), the victim, along with his four other colleagues were on board their respective motorcycles when the gunman attacked him.
They just finished eating breakfast in an eatery when the incident happened, police said.
The victim sustained injuries on his face, near his mouth, and left arm, while his companions were unharmed. He was brought to a hospital and is now in stable condition.
Police recovered from the scene an empty shell of .45-caliber ammunition.
