Legaspi said these fire incidents resulted in a total damage of P4,110,300 worth of properties.
Legaspi said that no casualties were reported this year, while one civilian and a firefighter were wounded.
The drop in the incidents indicated that the BFP’s information drive on fire prevention is effective.
He also added that the awareness of the people on fire safety and prevention increased, considering that most of the people are usually at home because of the pandemic.
“More cautious na ang mga tawo subong,” Legaspi said, adding that it really contributed to the reduction of fire incidents here.
Last year, the BFP has recorded a total damage of properties amounting to P5,492,206.
The BFP also recorded no deaths, but one wounded civilian.
