BACOLOD City – More or less P4.5 million worth of properties went up in smoke when a fire razed a lumber stockyard at Barangay Tayawan, Bayawan City, Negros Oriental Wednesday.
Based on initial reports from the Bureau of Fire Protection, the blaze broke out around 2 a.m. and was discovered by the establishment’s watchman.
Clearing operations lasted for more than three hours as the fire gobbled wooden materials in the stockyard.
Arson investigators quelled the fire at around 5:50 a.m. No casualties were reported.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has yet to determine the cause of fire.
