ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A fire razed on Sunday a sugarcane plantation owned by the former mayor of Pilar town.
The blaze ate up about 25 percent of the sugarcane plantation of former Pilar mayor Gedeon “Ike” Patricio at Barangay Jolongajog, Pontevedra, Capiz.
According to SFO1 Raymond Barroa, arson investigator of Pontevedra Fire Station, they have yet to establish the origin of the fire
Barroa said the fire erupted around 4:30 p.m. Sunday and was quelled around 7 p.m.
The five-hectare plantation was due for harvest when the fire occurred.
