BACOLOD City – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Bacolod is investigating the cause of the fire that damaged a portion of the Administrative office at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) here yesterday.
Chief Inspector Publio Ploteña, city fire marshal, said they received a call around 6:24 am when an employee noticed smoke inside the said office.
Fortunately, the sprinkler system functioned which prevented further damage in the office, Ploteña said.
Ploteña said fire out was declared around 8 a.m. with no injuries reported.
He said the fire damaged an estimated P50,000 worth of properties.
Initially, they are eyeing electrical as the possible cause of the blaze but investigation is still ongoing, he said.
