BACOLOD City – Seven houses were destroyed in a fire at Purok San Jose, Barangay Alijis here yesterday.
According to Chief Inspector Rodel Legaspi, city fire marshal, the fire broke out at around 11:47 a.m. in the house of Marilyn Ecarquez.
Legaspi said the fire originated from the guest room on the second floor of Ecarquez’s house.
“Nobody was inside the house when it happened,” he added.
Legaspi said the affected houses were made of mixed concrete and light materials.
“Dikit-dikit ang mga balay kag indi tupong, kay daw may slope na part lapit sapa,” he added.
Legaspi said there were also some houses that were damaged in the fire, but he has yet to disclose the number pending the inventory of the affected households.
The fire left an estimated P100,000 worth of damage upon initial investigation.
No injuries were reported.
