Fire damages SAF headquarters structure in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY — A portion of a makeshift structure inside the 6th Special Action Force (SAF) Battalion headquarters in Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, was damaged by fire on Saturday.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Sagay said it received the fire call at 5:42 p.m.
The fire was raised from first to second alarm because of the size of the blaze.
Responders from the Cadiz City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), Sagay City, and Escalante City provided immediate assistance.
The BFP declared the fire out at 7:09 p.m., with no injuries reported.
Arson investigators are probing the cause of the fire, which initially caused an estimated PHP 240,000 in damage.
The SAF is a specialized tactical unit of the Philippine National Police.
