Saving money and taking care of health and well-being emerged as the priority New Year’s resolutions of Filipinos for 2026, according to nonpartisan research firm WR Numero.
In the latest Philippine Public Opinion Monitor, respondents were asked to select up to three important changes or New Year’s resolutions they plan to make in the upcoming year.
The nationwide survey was conducted from Nov. 21-28 and was done through face-to-face interviews with a nationally representative sample of 1,412 Filipinos residing in the Philippines.
Among the provided goals for the upcoming new year, Filipinos want to prioritize saving money (38%), followed closely by taking care of their health (37%).
Many also aim to find a better job or higher income (28%) and spend more time with their families (27%).
Other common goals include starting a new business (24%) and being more positive and happy in life (22%).
Some respondents plan to be more active in their church or religious group (16%), participate more in helping the community (10%), improve in their studies (9%), or learn a new skill or hobby, such as playing instruments, singing, or cooking (8%).
Other respondents are also considering working or staying abroad (6%), becoming more socially aware or getting involved in social issues (6%), and working out, exercising, or learning new sports (4%).
Only 2% of Filipinos say they do not plan to set any New Year’s resolutions.
BY AGE GROUP
By age group, younger Filipinos also want to prioritize saving money (39%), taking care of their health
Among respondents aged 31–59, saving money (39%) and taking care of their health (37%) remain top priorities.
These are followed by aiming to find a better job or higher income (34%), spending more family time (28%), and starting their own business (27%).
For older Filipinos, taking care of their health (39%) emerges as their top resolution, followed by saving money (30%).
Their other top resolutions include spending more family time (27%), remaining positive and happy in life (26%), and becoming more active in their church or religious group (23%).
BY INCOME CLASS
By income class, Class ABC Filipinos want to prioritize saving money (32%), spending more family time (31%), starting a business (31%), taking care of their health (29%), and finding good work with decent pay (24%).
Filipinos from Class D also want to take care of their health (46%) in the New Year, followed by saving money (42%), being more active in their church or religious group (27%), spending more family time (26%), and being more positive and happy in life (23%).
Saving money and taking care of their health both lead the list of New Year’s Resolutions of those in Class E (both at 36%).
Their other resolutions include spending more family time (30%), being more positive and happy in life (27%), and starting their own business (22%).
The nationwide survey, conducted from Nov. 21-28, was done through face-to-face interviews with a nationally representative sample of 1,412 Filipinos residing in the Philippines, at a ±3% margin of error and
95% confidence level. At the subnational level, the margin of error is ±7% for the National Capital Region,
±4% for the rest of Luzon, ±6% for the Visayas, and ±5% for Mindanao, all at the same 95% confidence level.
