South Korean Dota 2 team T1 led by Filipino legend Carlo “KuKu” Palad just clinched a qualification seat to the most prestigious Dota 2 tournament in the world.
T1 showed outstanding chemistry during the upper bracket of the WePlay AniMajor which gave them an outright seat to TI10.
Started as one of PH’s top carries and is considered an icon, KuKu led T1 well as the team captain who is now playing an off-lane role for the team.
KuKu’s Broodmother in the first game wreaked havoc against Team Aster’s backlines while his Viper pick in the second game was the catalyst in the middle game.
KuKu opting for a tank-build on his Broodmother made T1 untouchable where they continued to push lanes to take a 1-0 lead.
During the second game, Aster tried to fight back but T1’s carry Lifestealer stole the show and posted an 8-0 kill-death record.
“We know that we need to win this one series to qualify for TI but my coach and I, we just kept saying to my teammates that don’t mind the result and let’s just play it game after game,” said the veteran Filipino player.
T1 joins other Dota 2 household names in Evil Geniuses (EG), Virtuous Pro (VP), and Invictus Gaming (G).
