Philippine food exporters secured over PHP 2.7 billion (USD 46.52 million) in confirmed and potential sales at THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2025, one of Asia’s biggest food and beverage trade shows held recently in Bangkok, Thailand.
The 22-company Philippine delegation, organized under the “Taste of the Philippines” pavilion, was led by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to promote locally made food products and forge new partnerships with international buyers and distributors.
“This event was more than just a sales mission—it was a strategic opportunity to elevate our food export sector,” said Maria Emmanuelle Burgos, commercial counsellor of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Bangkok.
“Thailand’s reputation as the ‘Kitchen of the World’ is well-earned, owing to its continuous investment in food production, processing, and packaging technologies,” she added.
“By continuously engaging with Thai institutions and experts, the Philippines aims to gather insights that can be adapted to strengthen our country’s food sector.”
The DTI organized several knowledge-sharing and benchmarking activities alongside the trade expo to help exporters sharpen their competitive edge in the global market.
These included a seminar on advanced food packaging and printing trends, benchmarking visits to Thailand’s National Food Institute, and market sensing trips to local supermarkets, food halls, and a durian farm in Nonthaburi province.
“Joining Thaifex provided strong visibility for the exhibitors and has opened up valuable business opportunities for us,” said Kenneth Ochia, marketing manager at KLT Fruits, Inc., one of the featured exporters.
The pavilion showcased a diverse portfolio of Filipino-made products such as processed fruits, sauces, condiments, ready-to-heat meals, noodles, snacks, dairy items, bread and pastries, beverages, and cacao-based goods.
The other participating companies included Amley Corp., DMC Enterprise, Fly Ace Corporation, Gem Foods International, Gerb Golden Hands Corporation, Jamla Corporation, KSK Food Products, Mama Sita’s, Mega Prime Foods, Miesto International Food Corporation, Ngo Siok Marketing (Super Q), P. Togo Corporation, Pearlfoods International, Philippine Grocers Food Exports, Pixcel Transglobal Foods, Q-Phil International Trading, See’s International Food Manufacturing Corp., Top Chefs Food Supplies, W.L. Food Products, Xiangtai Fruits and Vegetable Corporation, and Yanyan International Philippines, Inc.
The Philippine exhibit was made possible through a multi-agency collaboration involving the DTI, Department of Agriculture, PTIC-Bangkok, the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc., and the Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization (PHILFOODEX), Inc.
DTI officials said the country’s strong sales performance at THAIFEX is a sign of growing international interest in Filipino food products and an important step in expanding the Philippines’ agri-food export footprint across Asia.
