Filipino pool world champion Carlo Biado is the second-best nine-ball player in the world by the World Pool-Billiard Association.
After a magical 2021 professional run, Biado finally reaped the fruits of his labors with two straight prestigious titles: the 2021 US Open Pool Championship and the 2021 Abu Dhabi 9-Ball Open.
Biado’s current world no.2 rank will give him an edge in clinching seeds numbers in all of the available 9-Ball tournaments of the year.
Tagged as the “The Black Tiger”, Biado will have a busy schedule ahead of him with the World Pool Championship in April and the first-ever UK Open happening in May.
However, before Biado sets his eyes on those trophies, he will have to hurdle his first test in the Derby City Classic in Elizabeth, Indiana in the last week of the month.
Aside from Biado, another Filipino in Dennis Orcollo also made it to the list of the WPA, clinching the world no. 24 spot.
Orcollo also had a decent campaign during the 2021 US Open but eventually fell in the semifinals of the competition against Aloysius Yapp.
Albin Ouschan of Austria was WPA’s world no.1 ranked pool player and was the champion during the 2021 World Nine-Ball Championship.
