MANILA — The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) has named the Philippine Women’s National Football Team (PWNFT) roster for a November training camp ahead of the 2025 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, set for December in Thailand.
The camp, running from Nov. 23 to Dec. 2, is the team’s final major preparation window before the SEA Games kick off on Dec. 5. It also serves as part of the Filipinas’ buildup for the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, scheduled for March.
The Filipinas are drawn into a tough SEA Games group alongside defending gold medalist Vietnam, silver medalist Myanmar, and Malaysia.
PFF President John Anthony Gutierrez reaffirmed the federation’s full backing for the team.
“The team has shown consistency, maturity, and a fighting spirit that continues to inspire Filipino fans everywhere,” Gutierrez said. “This camp is an essential part of ensuring that the Filipinas enter the SEA Games and the Asian Cup with the best possible preparation. We remain committed to giving this team the resources and stability it needs to compete at the highest level.”
Torcaso highlights selection window, Bolden’s return
Filipinas head coach Mark Torcaso described the training block as crucial for final team selection and player development.
“This is a really exciting window for us as it’s our preparation window going into the SEA Games,” he said. “We’ve got a nice big squad to select from to attend the SEA Games and we’ll use this camp as an opportunity to fine-tune that and pick the best available 23 for the SEA Games.”
Striker Sarina Bolden rejoins the camp following an injury, though she is not expected to be match-ready for the SEA Games.
“It’s also really great to have Sarina come back into camp after her absence with injury and we’ll work through her rehab and her processes to bring her back to play as soon as possible,” Torcaso said. “Unfortunately, she won’t be ready for the SEA Games but our goal is to have her ready for the Asian Cup.”
Torcaso also noted the return of several rising talents who had missed recent training windows due to academic commitments.
“There’s also a number of young players that feature in this team that haven’t had much opportunity in the last few months because of unavailability due to university commitments,” he said. “We look forward to seeing them with a really strong team available considering it’s outside of the FIFA window. We plan to go there and make the final games and bring home a medal. I’m really excited by this group and this team that we’re bringing and we’re looking forward to making the country proud.”
