Filipino-New Zealander Mark Abelardo will be one of the first Filipinos to return to the ring as he was listed in the fight cards under ONE: No Surrender in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Filipino slugger will try to clinch a bounce-back win against Brazilian Fabrigcio Andrade in the 67-kilogram catchweight.
“I’m thankful we can get back to competing again. This is what I live for, and I have so much I want to do in this sport. The next step starts in Bangkok,” said Abelardo.
Abelardo has been training hard since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and after getting the notice from the ONE management regarding his fight slot, hasn’t stopped in intensifying his work to regain momentum after falling to Troy Worthen in his last fight.
“The entire world is reeling right now, and if by stepping into the ring and showcasing my skills can help inspire people to soldier on, I’m glad to do it,” added Abelardo.
His opponent is making his first bout under ONE FC and has swept his last two matches with an emphatic victory.
