Yuka Saso’s hardwork and determination paid-off bigtime after nabbing her first-ever Ladies Professional Golfers’ Association of Japan title.
The Filipina-Japanese drew all the tricks up her sleeve after facing the top golfers all around Asia. Her clutch performance in the waning moments of the match proved to be the edge to help her snatch the trophy.
Saso continued her dominant outing from her Asian Games women’s championship stint to Kitasaku-gun, Nagano, Japan that impressed not only the Japanese crowd but also her coaching staff.
During the 16th hole, Saso capped off her third round outing with an eagle including seven birdies with five coming from the front nine.
Her precise aiming gave her the early lead after displaying a flawless opening round with seven birdies and ended with a seven-under 65.
The Filipina teen sensation went home with a staggering amount of 14,400,000 yen (6.6 million pesos) and made history as the first Filipina to nab such feat.
